Imara Daima Adventist Academy

Established by a local Kenyan clergyman, Pr. Ezra Okioma in 2004, Imara Daima Adventist Academy began it’s educational journey as a christian-based school with just 76 students and three volunteer teachers; providing an important education to young people who lived in the Imara Daima slum neighborhood of Nairobi which surrounded the school’s location.

These students, from both Muslim and Christian families were provided an opportunity to be fed wholesome meals and receive educational instruction in an environment where no one was turned away, even if they could not afford the small monthly cost of enrolling their children.

Today, Imara Daima Adventist Academy has over 600 students from many religious faiths attending classes each day, learning from twenty-three committed and dedicated staff members.  The outstanding instructional efforts being provided by this team of teachers and administrators has seen the school produce more than 80 candidates who have been selected, after achieving high scores on difficult state exams, to continue their education at reputable national high schools and universities throughout Kenya.

This past summer of 2019, Give Back to Humanity sponsored a mission trip to Kenya, continuing both construction of the primary classroom building, and conducting a medical/dental clinic, providing care to needy people living near the school.  As part of this trip, the mission team spent an afternoon at the Giraffe Manor Feeding Center in Nairobi and traveled on a three-day safari to the Maasai Mara National Game Reserve in western Kenya.
